The Ultimate of all BLT's, including pre-seasoned tomatoes, egg & cheddar cheese makes a great supper for a hot summer day.
One of my favorite sandwiches is a BLT. However, I like to add the addition of a good fluffy egg and cheddar cheese. What makes this sandwich so ultimate? They key is to preseason your fresh garden tomatoes and use living lettuce. These preseason tomatoes make a great snack all alone. I started doing this to my tomatoes when I make sandwiches, pizza's and wraps. The flavors will soak in and add a new life to your meals.
What is Living Lettuce?
Living lettuce is the next best thing to having a garden in your fridge. Typically packaged in a plastic container, the lettuce is typically grown in a greenhouse and sold with its roots intact, letting moisture and nutrients continue to supply nourishment
Preseason Tomatoes:
1 large Garden Vine tomatoes (or roma)
Salt/Black Pepper
Lowry's Garlic Pepper (trust me you want this on everything)
Wishbone Avocado Oil Dressing - Garden Herb Vinaigrette
Frigo Parmesan Cheese
To Season:
Slice the Tomato into thin slices
Dash with Salt/Black Pepper
Add 3-4 good dashes of the Lowry's Garlic Pepper on top of the sliced tomatoes
Add 1-2 Tablespoons of the Wishbone Avocado Oil Dressing - Garden Herb Vinaigrette tomatoes on top
Top with 2-3 pinches (teaspoons) of the Frigo Parmesan Cheese
Place in Refrigerator until your sandwich is ready to top
BLT Egg & Cheese Sandwich
3 Eggs
2 Tablespoons Milk
Salt/Black Pepper
1 slice Medium Cheddar Cheese (I use Kraft)
2 slices Artesian White Bread (or wheat if your prefer)
Living Lettuce (Fresh Organic Lettuce Leaves)
3 Pieces Pre-Cooked Oscar Mayer Bacon
Margarine
Eggs:
Whisk in 2 tablespoons of Milk into 3 eggs in container - whisk together
Add in Salt/Pepper to taste
Cook on top of stove (separate pan) on low until fluffy scrambled
On Griddle -
Spread Margarine on Bottom of your Bread and place on griddle pan
Add 1 slice of Mild Cheddar Cheese on top of bread (margarine side down)
Add 3 slices of the pre-cooked bacon
Cook on medium-high until bread is golden on bottom
Top with Scramble Egg and remove from stove onto plate
Add 2-3 leaves of the living lettuce
Top with 2-3 slices of the preseason tomatoes
Add Top layer of Bread
Cut and Serve
Delicious! Give these pre-seasoned tomatoes a try. You won't be sorry. If you desire for a different taste preseason tomatoes with the salt/pepper, lowry's garlic pepper and add into wraps or pizza.
