Budget Baking Do-Nuts with Betsy
Invest in a Do-Nut Pan you won’t be sorry! (This makes 18 do-nuts and we only had two pans at work – so we had to wash one out quick to make the last batch) Ingredients: 1 Box Betty Crocker Supermoist Vanilla Cake Mix 1 Can Duncan Hines Creamy Lemon Supreme Icing ¼ Cup Canola Oil 2 Eggs 1 Can Cherry Pie Filling This batch yields 18 Do-Nuts **Note this batch you can make on any Budget. We obtained all the items from the Dollar Tree. That were awesome and all my co-worker’s were begging for more! To Make: (NOTE you do not follow the back of the Cake Mix for Do-Nuts) Pre-heat Oven to 450 Degrees – (Don’t run off – these Do-nuts bake very quick) Pour Box of the Betty Crocker White Cake Mix in bowl Add in the 2 eggs, ¼ cup canola oil and stir together with large mixing spoon Then fold in the 1 can of Cherry Pie Filling and mix together well (makes a pretty pink mix) Spray Do-Nut Pan with Pam Spray ---- a must! I use a teaspoon to fill each of the Do-Nut rings on the pan --- Fill about 2/3 full) Don’t overfill or they will come out like cupcakes not do-nuts) Put in Oven and Bake at 450 degrees for about 4-5 minutes. Don’t over bake! Do the toothpick test – they should be golden not brown. Remove all Do-Nuts from pan – (I use a fork – they come out easy) and place on a large cookie sheet to ice For Lemon Glaze: Place the 1 Can of the Duncan Hines Creamy Lemon Supreme Icing in Microwave for 20 seconds – Make sure and take lid off and the foil around it Take out and Pour over the Do-Nuts on the Cookie Sheet You want a light glaze not heavy icing! Serve – these will be gone before you can blink XOXO - Pat |
